Chester Wisniewski will give industry keynote

The summit organizers are very pleased to announce that Chester Wisniewski will deliver the industry keynote at the Summit. Chester is a Principal Research Scientist at global security firm Sophos. His interest in security and privacy began while learning to hack from bulletin board text files in the 1980’s and has been a lifelong pursuit. After moving to Vancouver, Canada in 2003 to work for Sophos, Chester has helped customers design enterprise-scale email defense strategies, was the primary technical lead on building Sophos’ first email security appliance, and consulted on security planning with some of the largest global brands. For the last ten years Chester has focused on analyzing the massive amount of attack data acquired by SophosLabs and sharing that information with the public to improve understanding of the threats we face and practical approaches to defending ourselves. He has regularly spoken and given keynotes at computer security events like RSA Conference, The University of Washington, Virus Bulletin, Security BSides (Vancouver, London, Wales, Perth, Austin, Detroit, Los Angeles, Boston and Calgary), Cloud Expo Asia and Purdue University. As a recognized expert he is regularly consulted by the press appearing on BBC News, ABC, NBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, CBC, NPR, Global, CTV and many other media outlets. When not busy fighting cybercrime, Chester spends his free time cooking, cycling and mentoring new entrants to the security field through his volunteer work with InfoSec BC.
